The Opportunity
We're seeking experienced wine industry professionals to pioneer the expansion of premium Georgian wines in the U.S. market. This is a ground-floor opportunity to represent one of the world's most historic wine regions during a period of unprecedented global growth.
Georgia's 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition is experiencing a renaissance in major wine markets worldwide. As a Market Development Partner, you'll have the unique opportunity to introduce these distinctive wines to the U.S. market, working across the three-tier system to build lasting presence for these exceptional products.
Role Overview
- Lead market entry strategy for premium Georgian wines in designated U.S. territories
- Develop and secure relationships with importers, distributors, and key accounts
- Build brand presence across both on and off-premise channels
- Create and execute market development plans with protected territory rights
- Participate in the expansion of one of the wine world's most exciting categories
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of proven success in U.S. wine sales, preferably with import or distribution experience
- Strong existing relationships within the three-tier system
- Track record of successfully introducing new brands or categories
- Understanding of U.S. wine import regulations and market dynamics
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently
- Passion for wine education and emerging wine regions
Compensation Structure
Importer Development:
- $250 initial signing bonus for qualified importer contracts
- $750 additional bonus upon shipping confirmation
- 10% of First Year FOB Value upon U.S. customs clearance
- 10% of First Year FOB Value paid over 6-month performance period
- Volume bonuses for larger commitments (additional 5% at 5,000+ cases)
Distributor Development:
- 15% commission on initial purchase orders
- Additional 3% for each new state secured
- 5% bonus for multi-state distributors (3+ states)
- Performance accelerators for exceeding targets
Retail/On-Premise Development:
- 10% commission on key account placements
- Chain store bonus program (+2%)
- Fine dining placement bonus (+3%)
- Exclusive program bonus (+5%)
- Quarterly retention incentives
